Powell and Raza Lead Dubai Capitals to Their First ILT20 Title

The Dubai Capitals beat the Desert Vipers by four wickets in a very close game to win the ILT20 2025 championship. The chase was led by Rovman Powell's powerful 38-ball 63 and Sikandar Raza match-winning 34 not out off 12 balls.

The Capitals won their first ILT20 title. Even though the Desert Vipers had a good score of 189/5, they couldn't protect it because the Capitals' middle order came on strong late. Fans eagerly followed the match updates on their Betpro account, making it an exciting finale.

The Desert Vipers score a good total.

The Desert Vipers got off to a bad start when they won the toss and chose to bat first. Alex Hales, known for hitting hard, hit a four in the first over, but he was out soon after when Obed McCoy mishit a shot to midwicket. Rahmanullah Gurbaz did the same thing and lost to McCoy in the same over.

On the other hand, Max Holden stepped up and hit a bunch of fours in response, scoring nine of them during the powerplay. The Vipers got to 53/2 after six overs thanks to his attacking style.

Holden kept being in charge, scoring fifty off 32 balls and forming an important relationship with Sam Curran.

Even though Haider Ali's spin caused Dan Lawrence to lose, the Vipers kept going. Curran, captain of the Vipers, played a captain's knock and is still unbeaten on 62 after just 33 balls. The Vipers got a good score of 189/5 thanks to his late blitz, which included three fours in the 18th over and a six in the last over.

The Capitals are on the hunt. wavy

The Dubai Capitals had problems early on as they tried to reach 190. David Payne threw a bowl at David Warner, and Mohammad Amir caught out Gulbadin Naib. It was a close call for Sam Billings, but he was soon sent off, leaving the Capitals with a 39/3 powerplay advantage. It looked like the Vipers were in charge, but Rovman Powell and Shai Hope had other ideas.

Hold the Ship Down by Powell and Hope

Powell and Hope worked together to score 80 runs, which got the Capitals back into the game. Powell, who had a lucky escape earlier, took advantage of the chance and hit a six and two fours off Sam Curran in a 16-run over.

Hope played a controlled innings and hit his first six off Nathan Sowter. In the 10th over, they put together a 50-run stand. The Capitals scored 100 runs one over faster than the Vipers, which kept the chase on track.

When Curran Fights Back

Just as the pairing was getting stronger, Curran broke through and hit Hope out with a slower cutter. Dasun Shanaka joined Powell, and the two kept the count going. Powell got to 50 off of 30 balls, but the number of runs needed increased.

The pressure was building as 65 had to be scored off 30 balls. In the 16th over, Powell and Shanaka hit sixes off of Curran. However, Shanaka was caught at long-on soon after leaving the field.

Heroics of Raza Complete the Win

Three overs left to get 37 runs, and Sikandar Raza took the lead. Powell hit two fours off of Sowter but was out in the same over. The Capitals needed 24 runs off of 12 balls.

However, Raza wasn't going to let the game slip away. In the next-to-last over, he hit three fours off of Amir, bringing the score down to 9 off the last over. Raza put the game out of its misery by hitting a six and a four off the first two balls of the last over. This gave the Capitals an exciting win.
